A drug called Scopolamine also known as Devil's Breath, which is extracted from the 'Borrachero Plant' commonly found in the Colombia.
The drug is classified under Anticolinergic that can inhibit the action of acetylcholine at a receptor site. The compound is said to have hallucinating effects and leads to lack of free will.
The criminals on the streets of Colombia use it since a long time to loot the people. Generally, the powder form of drug is blown on the victim's face or added in the drinks. Then after few minutes it start showing its hypnotising effects and wipe out free will of the victim. After that, victim will be forced to do everything which is asked by the criminals as they would not conscious enough to understand what they are doing. The crooks may lead victim to do crime also. Many such cases of crime and loop are reported in South America.
But there is also a bright side of the drug. It is available in a prescription form and is used to treat the motion sickness and postoperative nausea and vomiting. It can be taken orally or as a dermal patch which help to treat motion sickness. Some common side effects are blurred vision, dilated pupil and dry mouth.
The over dosage can lead to high heart rate, toxic pscyhosis, confusion, hallucination, seizures, coma or death.
